This sketch worked perfectly for a card I had to make for a male friend who just bought a house. It is very difficult for me to make "manly" cards because of all of the feminine embellishments that I like, so, using a button worked well for me. Embossing the sentiment was a snap which brought me up to three challenges. Soooo....here's my card:
I thought this wintery image was just so cute! When I first met her I thought that she was blonde and had on primary colors. Surprise! As I started coloring her and picking out papers, I realized that I had been wrong!! It's always interesting to see how these characters change as the card evolves.
I made this card for a friend of mine who just had a baby boy. She was telling me about her crying problems at the house. Apparently there is no sleeping, just crying! The joys of being a new mother. Being the caring sympathetic friend I am, I just had to make this card for her! I hope she enjoys it!!
Friends of mine at Phindy's Group on PCP have introduced me to OWH - Operation Write Home. I think this is a wonderful organization and I have donated some of my cards to them and will continue to do so. The group collects handmade blank cards to be sent to soldiers overseas so they can keep in touch with their loved ones. I'm sure that this means a great deal to the soldiers as well as to their family and friends.
